It’s Christmas Eve in Bunyan Bay, Minnesota and cantankerous bar owner Gunner Johnson gets in an argument with his wife, Clara, tells her he’s skipping Christmas, he storms out of the bar, goes snowmobiling across the lake, falls through the ice on his skidoo and goes into a coma. He comes back in his dream where he’s visited by folk legend, Sven Yorgensen, who plays the ghost of Christmas past, present, and future. Sven takes Gunner (Scrooge) on a journey similar to that in Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” only very different. Will Gunner come out of his coma and find redemption with Clara at The Bunyan? Find out.

Featuring the musical stylings of world famous Sven Yorgensen, including:

? The Christmas Cheese Polka
?The Wheel is Turnin’ but the Hamster is Dead
? I’m so Hosed
? Gunner Fell Into an Ice Hole
? It’s Christmas Time so Please Give Me Some
? The Bunyan Beguine

? I Love You More Than Football
? What Would Barbra Streisand Do?
? I’d Rather be Naughty

A Don’t Hug Me Christmas Carol is the new smash hit sequel to the hit musical, Don’t Hug Me. A Don’t Hug Me Christmas Carol opened in 2006 in 5 cities to rave reviews and sold out houses. The 180 seat Pioneer Place Theatre in Minnesota ended up selling out every performance. The Los Angeles production broke box office records, has been held over twice and will run for 16 weeks, outstanding for a holiday show. The original musical, Don’t Hug Me, won 4 Artistic Director Achievement Awards in Los Angeles including Best Original Musical, has been booked into over 50 cities since it opened in 2003, and is published by Samuel French. Another Phil Olson comedy, “A Nice Family Gathering,” is also published by Samuel French.

What theatre producers are saying about A Don’t Hug Me Christmas Carol:

“Opening night here at Pioneer Place was a HUGE hit. The audience response was overwhelming. Ticket sales are brisk with seven shows sold out already. This will be the hardest ticket in town to get…We really needed this shot in the arm!!!” - Dan Barth - Owner, Pioneer Place on Fifth

“We closed New Years Eve day and the show was a great success. We had nearly sold out houses after the first weekend. I had people coming back 2-3 times so they can catch things they missed when they were laughing. One lady said to me on the way out of the theatre…’Tell the author to keep writing!’” - Deb Belquist - Niven Adams Opera House

“What’s usually a 6 week run has turned into a 16 week run, outstanding for a holiday show. The word of mouth is incredible. I’ve never seen so many people come back so many times to see a show. ” - Doug Engalla - Lonny Chapman Group Repertory Theatre

A Letter From Stacy Stotko

Monday, December 10th, 2007

Again I write to you… my dear community… Brittany and I need your help.

So many of you were touched by the sweet essence of my beautiful daughter, Brittany. Her courage to save us and the terrible tragedy that took her. We knew her to be magical on stage, striking. That was the way that I remember her as she walked away from me that fatal day; illuminated with a peace beyond understanding and a dance within her walk.

Brittany MarieIn collaboration with Shira Dubrovner Artistic Director of the Mammoth Lakes Arts Center, we have begun raising the funds needed to complete Mammoth’s first ever state-of-the-art dance studio: naming it the “Brittany Marie Dance Studio.”

I have hoped for the strength to do something special for the wonderful gift of Brittany Marie. And it is with great honor that I have been given this incredible opportunity. The gift of her life has blessed my days with such love and beautiful memories. Many of which involve her love for dance.

I invite you to share with me the beauty of your memories with a special note included in your contribution. A contribution both, in honor of the sweetest dancer I have ever known and in support of the beautiful dancers of tomorrow.

My goal is 100% funding of the ($101,000) needed to complete the project by September 30th (Brittany’s birthday) she would have been 21.

With sincerest hope, I thank you… my community.

Sincerely,
Stacy Stotko
